Using #Facebook #Timeline AS The ULTIMATE Networking Tool w Video

We all know that Facebook is a powerful networking tool, this is why marketing as we know it has changed so drastically within the past two years or so. Companies are just now starting to really realize how much of an impact Facebook has had on marketing and are really starting to step their game up with adding Facebook to their marketing strategy.

It seems that smaller businesses are really stepping it up in a big way and using their smaller company size to move forward quicker than companies that have more red tape to move through to implement change. This is has been a driving force in allowing smaller companies to jump right on the social media bandwagon quicker.

Entrepreneurs and small businesses, such as myself have been using Facebook personal AND business pages to extend their networks, meet contacts and clients. Facebook Timeline for personal pages AND Timeline for Branded Pages offers the ultimate One-Two Punch of Networking Power if used correctly. I am currently embracing and enjoying my ability to utilize the One-Two Networking Punch to do just that.

I am loving the capabilities of Facebook Time line for personal and business pages used together, so much that I actually narrated ( yes…narrated ) a video to walk you through the process. This is huge for me as I NEVER narrate videos because I much prefer adding really cool music to grab attention.

Get READY: Facebook Timeline For Brands As Early As This Month

It’s no secret, I really do LOVE Facebook Timeline! One of the reasons that I really do like it is that I have an opportunity to utilize the page more effectively as a networking resource. It is something that I have been doing anyway, it wasn’t planned it just evolved into a great place to network and meet amazing people.

Although I am using my personal profile as a combination personal/networking space with the new Timeline layout it is really a perfect space for exclusively personal uses as well.

When Timeline for personal pages rolled out I knew that it was inevitable that Timeline for pages would probably be right behind it. However since the totally roll out for personal pages has yet to fully take place there has been a substantial delay in moving toward the roll out for Pages. Since I am a fan of Timeline I am very eager to see how Timeline would display for brands.

Timeline for personal pages has an amazing 850 x 314 area of prime digital space in which to use a cover photo. For me this will present an amazing opportunity when used for brand pages to advertise or promote a brand. I did a bit of a mock up of how my Brand Page could look based on some of the photo’s I’ve seen. I really love the branding potential of how Timeline could display my company page. Take a look a my mock up below.

We must all learn to embrace new things and changes especially in regard to technology because we are really in an era of tremendous change. Technology is growing at such an amazing rate of speed. So I say lets all embrace the changes and rock personal Timeline and Timeline for Brands when they are rolled out.

I scanned my Facebook Page recently and I noticed that there were many, many people holding on to the old Facebook layout with a death grip. Facebook Timeline is something that will happen! If you have time before it is forced upon you there will be an opportunity to get your Timeline in order.

If you get past how different the layout it, you may like the new look. It is really cool and it allows a lot more flexibility in displaying content than you may think.

Take a look at the videos below maybe it will motivate you to get started before you are forced. I am hearing that Timeline will be pushed upon you February 29th. So get ready

It’s no secret, I am a huge fan of Facebook Timeline. I guess, as a bit of an early adopter I am always ready to jump in at something new and cool especially when technology is involved. It lets me explore the inner nerd that has taken over

I also see the potential of Timeline as having the ability to allow people such as myself to use Facebook as a means to interact with family , close friends and collegues and use it as the amazing networking tool that it has become in my life.

Well today a friend and collegue shared an amazing post which is always the case with Roseli A. Bakar of EzyBlogger Fame. This post displayed a really cool tool that allow you to make a movie from your Facebook Timeline. How cool is that? Well, I had to test it out, you just to make sure it worked properly. . Ready or NOT Here Comes #Facebook Timeline [Video]

There is LOT’s of Mixed feelings about Facebook Timeline. I was with the 1st wave of people to upgrade, right after the big Facebook Convention. I just couldn’t wait to get it. I thought is was super cool and I still do.

Well, it seems that there has been a substantial delay in getting it out to everyone but ready or not here it comes. So take a look at the video below to get you ready for the Timeline.

What You Need To Do Before #Facebook Timeline Is Implemented

After getting a sneak peak at the Facebook convention when Timeline was introduced to the world, I was very excited to get it moving and to implement this for my Facebook profile. So, since I was a Facebook developer I had an opportunity to move forward with Timeline immediately. I actually thought that the roll out would be right behind. However that has not been the case, it has not rolled out and many have NOT moved forward with Timeline. I cant imagine why, because it is really cool.

Well Facebook will be rolling out the official Timeline for all sooner rather than later for those that are ready or not. So for all that have resisted the urge to upgrade, it is time. The layout is very different than the old layout that we are use to. I am very biased but I really LOVE the look of it, the functionality and the ability to customize it.

Check Before you Implement Timeline

Check your settings: I do know that all of your setting are suppose to move over; however, I would check them anyway.
Check your lists if you had lists: Like settings, these were suppose to carry over to Timeline but I would check them just to make sure. I do remember that the lists that I had displayed on my front page before I implemented Timeline were no longer on display but they lists were still intact, but no longer displayed
Check for old post that you may not want to be viewed: This was a biggie for me, because I had an old rant or two that was no longer applicable LOL that I did not want displayed in my Timeline. So make sure you go through and delete any posts that you may not want displayed. Unless you are an angel and never used Facebook to rant. Don’t judge me people.

Cool Perks

Add a cool Cover Photo : You will have the ability to add a cool photo as a focus point on your Timeline. This is really cool!
Hide From TimeLine: When people post crap to your page you can hide it. Oops did I say that? LOL Well unless you want to display all your Farmville, Castleville, WasteOfTimeVille postings. Now you can opt to hide them easily, if you chose to do so.
Post View List: When you post anything you have an, easy to use option, that allows you to display posts to different people, lists etc. So you can select to display certain posts to different groups of people. Now you don’t have to worry about your boss seeing the holiday party pics but you can opt to show them them to the friends that got wasted and made fools of themselves. Not that you would do that or anything.
Life Events: Is really cool, it allows you to add things that are important in your life from the past and present. You can add, wedding, anniversaries, births, graduations and more.
